Did you know? The word "tyrosine" comes from the greek tyros (cheese). It was discovered in the cheese protein, casein, in 1846 by German chemist Justus von Liebig.

Tips:  L-Tyrosine should be taken before meals, preferably 30 minutes before, and divided into two or three doses daily, with juice or coconut water.

Tyrosine's assimilation into protein relies on co-factors such as vitamins B6, B9, folic acid and the mineral copper.

Pure amino acid powders may be slightly hygroscopic (retain moisture) and which can result in clumping.

The amino acid L-Tyrosine is a precursor to thyroid hormone, which can support metabolism. The body also uses it to make melanin and neurotransmitters dopamine and noradrenalin.

Melanin is the pigment responsible for hair and skin colour that provides protection against harmful ultraviolet rays.

L-Tyrosine is present in many high-protein foods, and also synthesised in the body from the amino acid, phenylalanine.

Ingredients: pure L-Tyrosine.  One 5ml metric teaspoon = 2000mg.
